The Island Hurricane in a 26-foot Searay sport fishing cuddy
cabin. She has an aluminum offshore bracket designed to hold new
outboard power, auxiliary safety power, and free up fishing deck
space. This type of boat is very comfortable with lots of protection
from rain and wind, with a stand up separate head. Searay boats
have high gunnels and a wide beam so they are stable fishing platforms.
When it is time to run home from the outer fishing banks, the
deep vee hull has a soft ride and is very seaworthy if sea conditions
become adverse. There are several of these boats in the area,
and they have a well known reputation. The Island Hurricane has
commercial grade Furuno radar for fishing in limited visibility,
and Global Positioning Systems to pin-point fish holding hotspots.
Duel V.H.F. marine radios with built in digital scramblers provide
private communications between the sports fishing guide fleet,
and allows us to locate fish. Shimano reels, Scotty electric downriggers,
and a variety of different terminal set ups depending on the type
of fishing. A Yamaha four-stroke trolling motor and a rear steering
station provide smooth efficient production fishing
