Salmon Fishing
Salmon Fishing in BC's Ucluelet /
Tofino area is incredible, imagine fishing for huge
Chinook, Coho Salmon, or Sockeye Salmon; BC's west coast has
some of Canada's best Sport Fishing, and is always an
exciting and scenic adventure.

Ucluelet Sport Fishing Charters,
offer some of the best Salmon Fishing in the world, with
record Chinook Salmon weighing in at as much as
60 Pounds and
Coho Salmon as much as
20 Pounds. Many
of our Salmon runs are coming from Alaska and bound for the
Columbia river and
Sacramento River. Vancouver Island is perfectly positioned to
intercept many of the Alaskan Salmon runs. Alaskan Salmon
Fishing has nothing on the Tofino / Ucluelet area, our
salmon fishing is actual more consistent than Alaskan Salmon
fishing, especially offshore.
Deep Sea fishing or Off Shore fishing on the west
coast of Vancouver Island, is practiced from 5 to 20 miles
offshore, on the outer banks. Offshore fishing is very
consistent and is the best bet for great west coast fishing;
as long as the weather cooperates.

Inshore Fishing
is what started all guided fishing in Ucluelet and
Tofino. In foul weather we fish inshore, in
the protected waters of the Alberni Inlet / Barkley Sound. Short travel times
combined with flat water and great scenery are some of the
west coast
attractions. Big Chinook in shallow water, equals explosive
hook-ups and rippin runs.

Chinook Salmon Fishing (King / Tyee)

Chinook Salmon fishing starts
in May and lasts until the
end of September, but typically starts
getting good in the Ucluelet / Tofino area
between Mid June to Mid September. Early season
Chinook are the best to eat, they tend to average
about 15 pounds, but later on in the season the
trophy size Chinook show up and they average in the
mid 20 pound range with several King Salmon over 30
pounds being caught annually.
Chinook are also called King Salmon in the
US and Chinook over 30 Lbs are called Tyee Salmon in Canada.

Coho Salmon Fishing (Silver Salmon)

Coho Salmon fishing starts around mid
June
but doesn't get to its peak until the beginning of July and
lasts until the end of September. Coho top water fishing is
phenomenal. Limits of hatchery Coho are landed fast on
lightweight rods. This is a great action packed, all in one
offshore fishery that provides lots of fish to take home.
